Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel would consider a ceasefire agreement with Hamas only if it permits Israel to continue its military operations in Gaza. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant echoed this stance, emphasizing that Israel intends to maintain its conflict with Lebanon’s Hezbollah even if a truce is achieved in Gaza.
Negotiations for a ceasefire are set to persist in Egypt and Qatar throughout the week.
The conflict, which began on October 7, has resulted in the deaths of at least 38,153 individuals and injuries to 87,828 in Gaza. In Israel, the attacks led by Hamas have caused approximately 1,139 fatalities, with numerous people still held captive in Gaza.
