Rising Civilian Casualties in Gaza Amid Escalating Conflict
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza continues to claim lives, with recent Israeli airstrikes leading to significant civilian casualties across various regions.
Northern Gaza City Attacks
In Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, an Israeli air raid has resulted in the deaths of at least six Palestinian civilians. In the al-Mina neighborhood of northern Gaza City, three more bodies have been recovered from a bombed house.
Central Gaza Bombings
Central Gaza has also been heavily impacted. In the town of az-Zawayda near Deir el-Balah, an Israeli bombing of a home has killed at least six people. Meanwhile, the Nuseirat refugee camp suffered a severe attack, killing 16 people and injuring 75 others. The influx of dead and wounded has overwhelmed Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
Southern Gaza Casualties
In the southern region, east of Rafah, the bodies of three handcuffed Palestinians have been recovered, as reported by Al Jazeera.
Civilian Toll and Activist Response
Since October 7, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 38,153 people and has wounded 87,828 in Gaza. In Israel, the death toll from Hamas-led attacks is estimated at 1,139, with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza. Israeli activists, marking nine months since the initial attacks, have staged “a day of disruption” to pressure their government for elections and the return of Israeli captives.
Urgent Call for Resolution
The increasing civilian casualties and the escalating conflict highlight the urgent need for a resolution to the Israel-Gaza crisis. The international community continues to call for ceasefires and peace negotiations to address the humanitarian disaster unfolding in the region.
