Fire Crews Battle Los Angeles Wildfires as Death Toll Rises to 24

Los Angeles, California:

Firefighters Southern California firefighters are locking horns with a vicious set of flamesstrikes that have already claimed about 24 lives and forced thousands to evacuate. The winds, coupled with dry conditions, further add to the problem, with thousands of acres getting lost and countless structures suffering enormous damage.

The worst of the destruction is seen in the mountains north of Los Angeles, where flames are most rampant. Multiple communities still remain under evacuation orders. Fire crews are doing their utmost to ensure that the flame containment increases, however, the situation remains severe as ground-level winds will be enhanced for the rest of the week.

Evacuations Orders and Shelters :

The shrieking flames have forced a multitude of residents to abandon their property, with the majority opting for the most basic emergency shelters set up by local government. Various charitable establishments, including the Red Cross, have been offering food, water, and fire packs towards those who qualify for the aid.

Aerial Support and Ground Crews :

Ground forces are assisted in the fight by aerial support, which comprises of helicopters and water dropping planes. However, shooting at such a level makes it difficult to accommodate for the rampant flare-up. Flare up’s are coming faster and more rage filled than the last, thanks to the high winds and differential heights of the terrain.

The region has been warned about air quality issues as a result of wildfire smoke covering the area.
